Do you have a license to fly drones?

We hold an "Operational Authorisation", which is often referred to and seen as a drone license for commercial work. The Operational Authorisation is issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) when the drone pilot has obtained their General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC). This shows that the pilot  is able to demonstrate confidence in flying of a drone as well as passing a theory test which covers Aviation Law, weather conditions, other airspace users, care and storage for the drone and general safety/good practice.

What is the quality of video and imagery like?

We always shoot video in 4k resolution. This is the best quality to use for editing and can then be graded or reduced to 1080HD if required after this. All of our equipment, apart from the DJI Avata, can film at 60 frames per second (fps) allowing for a smooth viewing experience. The imagery we capture is in High Definition.

What equipment do you use?

We use a range of drones for different applications. All our drones are made my DJI and our fleet consists of the Mini 2, Mini 3 Pro, Avata, Mavic 3 Pro and the Mavic 3 Multispectral. All our drones are capable of shooting in 4k resolution at various frame rates. We are also able to hire equipment for specific jobs where necessary as our Operational Authorisation allows us to fly any drone up to 25kg within 150 metres of any residential, commercial, industrial, or recreational area.
For our virtual tours, we use a Insta360 ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition camera which is capable of shooting at 6k resolution.

Are drones safe?

The drones we use have some highly advanced features for keeping people, property and the aircraft safe. Collision sensors and obstacle avoidance is built into each drone we use, but we do not rely on this when operating the drone. Before every flight, we carry out a survey and risk assessment to make sure everything is as safe as possible before commencing work.
